HESYM / YOUR CHOICES
Privacy &
measurement.
A little clarity about what stays here, what gets counted, and what you choose to share.
Your writing stays with you.
The lab uses authored prompts. Experiment 002 holds your answers, pasted AI response, and reflections in the current tab’s memory. We do not upload that writing, save it in a database, or send it to an AI model. Hesym does not save a draft for you. Download your record before closing or reloading the page. A field record downloads to your device.
Copying a prompt and taking it into an AI tool is your choice. That provider then processes what you share under its own terms. Use public or invented details.
Counting useful actions.
We count fixed action names: starting or completing Experiment 002, saving a field card, successfully submitting an inquiry, and successfully submitting a field note. Each action type sends at most one small request per page load to this same site. The request contains a fixed action name and one of four fixed areas: the lab, Experiment 002, contact, or field notes. It contains no answer text, email, name, visitor ID, random tracking token, or advertising identifier.
These are approximate action counts, not unique people or evidence of learning. Blockers, browser privacy settings, automated requests, and repeated visits can affect them. Downloads count a request to save a file; inquiries count acceptance by the email service, not independently verified delivery of every visitor message.
Netlify processes these requests in its ordinary hosting logs, which can include IP addresses, user agents, and timestamps. We use aggregate path counts for this measurement. Hosting logs remain subject to Netlify’s retention and access controls. We add no advertising cookies or cross-site analytics service.
We honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track by skipping action requests. You can also turn action measurement off below. Only that preference is stored in your browser’s local storage; it is not a visitor identifier. If preference storage is unavailable, action measurement is off.
JavaScript is required to show and change the stored preference. Without JavaScript, no action requests are sent.
When you send a note.
Contact submissions send your name, email, optional phone, and message through the existing EmailJS service to Hesym’s inquiry destination. Field notes send only the name or alias, email, observation you review, publication choice, experiment context, page URL, reference, and submission time. We use those details to review and respond. Email providers and EmailJS process the submission under their own policies. Do not send confidential or sensitive information.
You choose whether a field note can be public.
Publication permission is optional and unchecked by default. A private note stays private. If you give permission, John may publish the note with the name or alias you supplied after review; your email stays private. Sending a note does not publish it automatically. To withdraw permission or ask about a note you sent, email sales@hesym.com with its reference if available.
Hosting and links.
Netlify hosts Hesym and may process ordinary request information for operation and security even when action measurement is off. Fonts and artwork are served with the site. External links take you to another provider.
